Page with borders

Making a page in forums with borders.

I don't want to bore you or confuse you with how a page is made but it might help if understand what it is that you are making. It's basically 3 layers that you will add an image to each layer.


The easiest way I find to make pages is to copy and paste a previously made page and then add your tiles into the correct line in the code. Did I just say CODE!! Don't be scared after you've done this a few times you'll be a pro.

First let's  make a couple of simple tiles to use in our code.
In the program you prefer to use open a transparent image 200x200, flood fill with any colour you choose, I have used a red & Yellow, save this image as a jpeg (flattened). Repeat using another colour.
Upload your tiles to PHOTOBUCKET.

Make sure you are in the admin group to practice. It will be helpful to have 2 pages open so you can follow along with the tut and do the tut at the same time.

Let's try one.
Click on the link HERE and it will take you to a blank messege, in the top right corner click on the "EDIT" button, you will see some code in the messege.


Click anywhere with in the messege & hit Control A, this hi-lites the whole messege, now Control C, this copies the whole messege.

Create a new messege in your test area. Hit Control V (it'll still be in your memory) to paste the whole messege.  You should now see this:


We will only be using the first paragraph to make our page.
There are 3 lines that we will be changing, only change what is within the quotes!



You will be adding a "Direct link" between the quotes on the first line .
Place your cursor between the  "g" and the last quote marks at the end of the sentence.

and back space until you only see this,
""           DON"T CLICK ANY WHERE ELSE.

Go to your photobucket and copy the "DIRECT LINK" go back to the admin group and hit CONTROL V your dirct link should now be there. To see if it is click on preview.

OK for the next line, look for the 3rd line ( near the end of the paragraph)
g"  place your cursor between the g and the quote at the end of the sentence. Back space again until you see this ""  and hit control V,

For the last line (which is actually the center colour) look  in the middle of the paragraph for this line
g"
Place your cursor between the g and the last quotes in this sentence back space again until you see this
""           DON"T CLICK ANY WHERE ELSE.

Go to photobucket and copy the "Direct link of your 2nd tile. go back to the code and hit Control V.
Hit preview and you should see something similar to this.



Now you have the borders done
